Douglas Dean

Painter

Forget coloring books: he preferred blank paper, the bigger the better. Over the years, Doug experimented with watercolors, pen and ink, charcoal, acrylics, and oil paints. He's also created stencils in paper and 8-foot, plywood panels. Significant artistic influences include just about everyone from Leonardo to Dr. Suess.  Now officially retired, Doug has ample time to focus on painting and other art projects.

With Spring almost here, it will soon be time to get outdoors and paint in plein air. Doug paints from photographs he has taken, or paintings that were completed in plein air.  Amsterdam, the Scottish Highlands, the Oregon coast, and the Yamhill Countryside are regular subjects for his compositions.
